Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

Flywire (international payments)

Ontario Tech University has partnered with Flywire to offer an innovative and streamlined way to make a payment from your home country. Founded by a former international student, Flywire’s mission is to save money for international students and their families that would otherwise be lost on bank fees and unfavourable foreign exchange rates.

1. Visit Flywire

Visit our Flywire page. Enter the amount owing and the country you are paying from.

2. Payment method

Select your preferred payment method from the options provided. Options may include bank transfer, debit/credit card in your home currency, electronic payment or other local options.

3. Flywire account

  • If you have previously used Flywire, log in to access your account details.
  • If you have not used Flywire before, enter your name, email and password to create a new account. You will also enter some basic information to initiate your payment.

4. Sending funds to Flywire

Follow the instructions provided to send funds to Flywire.

  • For bank transfers, follow the instructions provided to send your funds. Depending on your bank, payment may be made online, in person or over the phone.
  • For debit/credit card payments, enter your card details online to complete your payment in your home currency.

Additional local payment options may be available depending on the country you are paying from.

5. Confirmation of payment

Track your payment by logging into your Flywire account at any time. Receive text and email status updates each step of the way, including a confirmation when your payment has been delivered to your institution.

Please note: Flywire transfers usually appear as payments on your student account within approximately five business days from the time your bank initiates the transfer.
