Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

How to register

We've made our registration process easier for you. You can now register for courses using our Ontario Tech Mobile app. All you need is your student number and network password. Take the time to familiarize yourself with how to register by watching our helpful how-to register video, or follow these registration steps:

How to register via MyCampus

  • Step 1 - Locate your program map and determine what courses you need to register for
If this is your first time registering for courses at Ontario Tech, you can locate your program map from the menu on the left-hand side of our course registration guide. If you are a returning student, follow your program map from the year you started in your program, or contact your academic advisor for assistance.
  • Step 2 - Confirm your registration status
    1. Log into your MyCampus portal
    2. Select Check Your Registration Status from the listed registration options under the Helpful Links section. Confirm that your student status and academic standing permit registration, and that you do not have any holds on your account that would prevent registration.
    3. Calculate your earned hours by adding your undergraduate institution hours and transfer hours together. Your earned hours will determine when your registration window will open. Earned hours are also listed in the top banner of your student profile page under the Student Self Service section.
  • Step 3 - Plan your schedule

At this point, the planning of your winter schedule will look different, depending on your program of study and year level.

If you are a first-year student:
    1. Navigate to the winter semester two schedule options on the left-hand side menu, and locate your program.
    2. Choose a preferred block schedule, and note the block schedule number.
If you are a first-year student in a program that provides pre-designed winter semester two schedule options:
    1. Navigate to the winter semester two schedule options on the left-hand side menu, and locate your program.
    2. Choose a preferred pre-designed winter semester two schedule, and note the Course Registration Numbers (CRNs) for your winter courses, located in the table below your schedule visual.
If you are a continuing or returning student, or are a first-year student that does not have any winter semester two schedule options pre-designed for your program:

You can plan your winter schedule using the new Plan Ahead feature in your MyCampus portal.

    1. Select Plan Ahead from the listed registration options under the Helpful Links section in your MyCampus portal. This will allow you to create a mock schedule to plan out your semester. For each schedule that you want to create, use the course codes listed on your program map, and search for available sections using the class schedule search:
      1. Select the Subject from the provided list using the first 4 letters of the course code.
      2. Enter the four-digit number into the Course Number field, followed by the letter “U."
    2. Select the Add button to add the desired courses to your mock schedule. You can create up to six mock schedules per semester. Be sure to add all linked labs and tutorials for each course, if applicable.
    3. Double-check restrictions and prerequisite requirements before finalizing your mock schedule to avoid scheduling conflicts when you attempt to register into your chosen courses.
  • Step 4 - Register into classes
    1. Select Add/Drop Classes from the listed registration options under the Helpful Links section of your MyCampus portal.
    2. Once your registration window opens, read through the registration contract, and choose “I agree." Please note, by agreeing to this contract, you are also agreeing to the University’s procedures and protocols, including drop deadlines and consequences.
    3. You can now register into classes in a number of different ways, depending on how you planned your winter schedule in Step 3.
If you are a first-year student:
    1. Select the Blocks tab.
    2. Select your preferred block number, followed by Submit.
If you are a first-year student in a program that provides pre-designed winter semester two schedule options:

    1. Select the Enter CRNs tab, and enter all Course Registration Numbers (CRNs) listed for your preferred pre-designed winter semester two schedule option.
    2. Select Add to Summary, followed by Submit.

If you are a continuing or returning student, or are a first -year student that does not have any pre-designed winter semester two schedule options:
The easiest way to register is to upload your mock schedule that you already created in Step 3 (above).

    1. Select the Plans tab at the top of the screen, choose the plan that you would like to use for registration.
    2. Select Add All, followed by Submit.

If you created a draft schedule manually, you can enter individual course registration numbers (CRNs) using the Enter CRNs tab. Alternatively, you can complete a traditional class search using the Find Classes tab, entering the subject and the course number (followed by the letter U) in the corresponding boxes.

Check out our registration FAQs for common registration error messages, and potential solutions.
