Our course registration guide provides you with step-by-step information on how to register for the courses you need for your upcoming academic year. Make sure you read all instructions carefully to ensure your registration process is as smooth as possible.

For your next step in the registration process, select what type of student you are from the list below:

  • I am a new student entering year 1

    All official communication will be sent to your student email account (OntarioTechU.net), posted in the Announcements and Important information tabs on MyOntarioTech, and sent as a notification in our mobile app. You are responsible for checking these channels regularly for information such as course registration, examination information and add/drop deadlines.

    To view your student email:

    1. Go to MyOntarioTech.
    2. Select the Current students box.
    3. In the Resources box, select Student email.
    4. Log into your student email using your student number as the username and your date of birth as the password (in MMDDYY format).

    To view Announcements and Important information:

    1. Go to MyOntarioTech.
    2. Select the Current students box.
    3. Select either Announcements or Important information.

    To review your program map, navigate to the left-hand side menu and locate your program. Our course registration guide will help you register in your first year of study. 

    To view your Registration:

    1. Go to MyOntarioTech.
    2. Select the Current students box.
    3. In the Registration box, select any one of the following option(s): Plan ahead, Add or drop courses online, Student schedule, Look-up courses to add, Check your registration status.
    4. If prompted, login using your network credentials.
    5. Complete your preferred option(s).

  • I am a new student admitted to upper-year standing

    All official communication will be sent to your student email account (OntarioTechU.net), posted in the Announcements and Important information tabs on MyOntarioTech, and sent as a notification in our mobile app. You are responsible for checking these channels regularly for information such as course registration, examination information and add/drop deadlines.

    To view your student email:

    To view your Registration:

    1. Go to MyOntarioTech.
    2. Select the Current students box.
    3. In the Registration box, select any one of the following option(s): Plan ahead, Add or drop courses online, Student schedule, Look-up courses to addCheck your registration status.
    4. If prompted, login using your network credentials.
    5. Complete your preferred option(s).

  • I am a returning or re-admitted student

    Contact your upper-year Academic Advisor for information on registration and next steps.

  • For faster service during peak periods (i.e. registration or the start of a new semester) or for time-sensitive matters, please visit the Office of the Registrar in-person, or call us at 905.721.3190.
  • We can also be reached via email at connect@ontariotechu.ca, however responses will be delayed due to a high volume of emails.
    • Note: If sending an email, make sure to include your name and student ID number, and only email once. Missing student information, or multiple emails will result in greater delays.
