Spring/summer course registration guide
Our registration guide provides you with step-by-step information on how to register for the courses you need for your upcoming academic semester. Make sure you read all instructions carefully to ensure your registration process is as smooth as possible.
Step 1: select what type of student you are from the list below.
Step 2: confirm your earned hours and review the registration start dates to determine your registration date/time.
Step 3: review tentative course offerings.
Student type

I am a new student entering year 1
All official communication will be sent to your student email account (OntarioTechU.net), posted in the Announcements and Important information section on MyOntarioTech and sent as a notification in our mobile app. You are responsible for checking these channels regularly for information such as course registration, examination information and add/drop deadlines.
To view your student email:
- Go to MyOntarioTech.
- Select your student type: Undergraduate Students or Graduate Students
- Click on My information
- Select Student email.
- Log in using your network credentials.
To view Announcements and Important dates and information:
- Go to MyOntarioTech.
- Scroll down to the Message Centre
- View Announcements and/or Important dates and information.
To view your Registration:
- Go to MyOntarioTech.
- Select your student type: Undergraduate Students or Graduate Students.
- Click on My academics.
- In the Course registration box, select any one of the following option(s): Plan Ahead, Add or drop courses online, Look-up courses to add, Registration fee assessment, Check your registration status.
- If prompted, login using your network credentials.
- Complete the selected option(s).
Contact your Academic Advisor for a custom program map, listing all required courses you will need to register in for your first year of study.

I am a new student admitted to upper-year standing
All official communication will be sent to your student email account (OntarioTechU.net), posted in the Announcements and Important information sections on MyOntarioTech and sent as a notification in our mobile app. You are responsible for checking these channels regularly for information such as course registration, examination information and add/drop deadlines.
To view your student email:
- Go to MyOntarioTech.
- Select your student type: Undergraduate Students or Graduate Students
- Click on My information.
- Select Student email.
- Log in using your network credentials.
To view Announcements and Important dates and information:
- Go to MyOntarioTech.
- Scroll down to the Message Centre.
- View Announcements and/or Important dates and information.
To view your Registration:
- Go to MyOntarioTech.
- Select your student type: Undergraduate Students or Graduate Students.
- Click on My academics.
- In the Course registration box, select any one of the following option(s): Plan Ahead, Add or drop courses online, Look-up courses to add, Registration fee assessment, Check your registration status.
- If prompted, login using your network credentials.
- Complete the selected option(s).
To view your Registration Status and confirm your earned hours:
- Go to MyOntarioTech.
- Select your student type: Undergraduate Students or Graduate Students.
- Click on My academics.
- In the Course registration box, select: Check your registration status.
- On the Select a term page, use the drop down arrow to select Terms open for registration, select your term and then click Continue.
- The Prepare for registration page confirms your student status, academic standing permit registration, any holds on your account and Earned hours. Earned hours are also listed in the top banner of your Student profile page as Overall Hours. Your earned hours will determine when your registration window will open.
