Your university education is one of the most important investments you will make! It is very important you understand all the fees that make up your total costs, such as tuition, compulsory ancillary fees, additional compulsory fees and specific course-related fees.

After you review your fees, you should review your payment options and payment and refund deadlines.

How your tuition and fees are calculated

Tuition at Ontario universities is based on four factors:

  • Provincial government policy
  • The university and program
  • Whether the student is considered domestic (Canadian citizen, permanent resident or convention refugee) or international (not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, or are currently studying or have studied outside of Canada)
  • The student’s year of study
