Welcome to SGPS course registration
We are happy you are joining us for your graduate academic journey!
Our course registration guide provides you with step-by-step information on how to register for your graduate level courses that you need for your upcoming term. Make sure you read all instructions carefully to ensure your registration process is as smooth as possible.
Registration Information
The university uses an online registration system through MyOntarioTech. You will be notified of your registration date and time by email. You may register at any point after your allotted time. Keep in mind that you should register as soon as possible for access to the broadest selection of courses. Once the registration window has opened, it will remain open and you can continue to make changes to your schedule up until the posted registration deadlines.
Note: Graduate Student registration date(s) differ from undergraduate students. Search the appropriate "Registration Start Dates" list in the above link to find the specific date for Graduate Students.
Next Step: Student Type
For your next step in the registration process, select what type of student you are from the list below. If you are unsure which program you are in, you can confirm by reviewing the Fees and Payment webpage and select your student tuition type.

Important Notes:
Degree requirements are located in the Graduate Academic Calendar. Students are responsible for ensuring they are completing all requirements of their program, including mandatory courses within their specific program's specialization.
If you are in a research-based program, contact your research supervisor to determine your course registration.
You can preview available courses and choose lectures, labs and tutorials (where applicable) to plan a conflict-free timetable.
For next steps or additional assistance, you may contact your graduate program director or graduate program staff member.
For administrative purposes, all graduate students in flat-fee programs are registered in a specific course known as a “continuance course”. This course confirms that the student is registered in the graduate program until they have met all program requirements and are eligible to graduate. Unless the student has applied and been approved for a leave of absence from the program, they are automatically re-registered in this continuance course at the beginning of each semester. If a student has a hold on their account they will not be registered into the course automatically. They should contact gradfinance@ontariotechu.ca to discuss their hold. Although the course code appears on the student's transcript, it is not graded or calculated into the student's GPA.
