How to submit an application for admission
- Review our programs. Students can select up to three programs on their application.
- Check admission requirements under the Admissions tab of the applicable program page.
- Review the admission requirements by country and/or curriculum.
- Submit the application online directly to the university. Do not use the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) application as we will not be able to connect your agency to the application, and commission fees cannot be paid. Ideally, applications should be submitted at least six months prior to beginning studies.
- Submit supplementary documents and official secondary and post-secondary transcripts by mail or courier. Transcripts must come directly from the secondary school, post-secondary institution or issuing authority.
- Ensure the applicant meets our English language proficiency requirements through one of the following:
- Completion of at least three years of formal, full-time study (no less than three courses per semester) at a secondary or post-secondary institution where the language of instruction and examination is English (this does not include ESL courses or programs).

Reviewing your student's application
Before you submit an application please ensure:
1. The biographical information entered in the application must reflect the information of the actual applicant and be absolutely official (as per one’s passport) and accurate. For example, do not enter nicknames, short forms, a parent’s name instead of a student’s, etc. This info is used ultimately for official documents, and the wrong information will lead to delays in application processing, rejection of a study permit application, etc.
2. That the program choices and intake dates are accurate and reflect the decisions of the student.
3. The copies of documents you submit in support of an application should be relevant and complete: Passport, academic transcripts to date, predicted results/mock exam results (for those curricula where these are common), board exam results/examining body results (for those curricula where these are common, e.g., British, IB, Indian, etc.). Also, a passport copy is required; if the applicant doesn't’t have a passport yet, upload a scan the student’s birth certificate or national identity card. Documents only need to be submitted once and must be submitted prior to the deadline for document submission. Do not submit student CVs, reference letters, statements of intent, certificates of participation (e.g., sports, competitions, etc.)—these are not considered.
4. Any academic document submitted by you or a student is considered a copy. While these can be used towards a decision on an application, if an application leads to a positive decision, then official academic documents will be required by the dates specified on our website, in the offer letter, and the checklist of required documents. Final high school transcripts must be emailed to Ontario Tech directly by the relevant high school from an institutional email address.
5. Deferrals of an application require that an applicant has met all conditions of an offer and is facing a situation that demands the deferral. If the deferral is granted, then the student may not pursue any coursework during the period of the deferral. Doing so will render an application and any offer made null and void. The student will then have to re-apply for admission consideration.
