Ancillary fees opt-out: new this year

Being a member of our university community is more than just about attending classes.

The government of Ontario has made changes to the types of ancillary fees you must pay. These changes allow you to have a say in what your campus experience looks like.

You now have the option to opt out of select ancillary fees. These fees are charged to your student tuition account to provide necessary services to better support you in your academic journey. Choosing to opt out of these fees may have an impact on some of the services we provide.

These select fees go to your Student Union and are used to provide programming and resources to enrich the student experience. The total amount of select fees a full-time student can opt out of per term (not including Health and Dental Insurance) is approximatley $31.21 depending on your program of study.

Once you’ve registered for your courses, you’ll be able to opt out of select fees through MyCampus. Please be aware of the following information:

  • You must opt out by Wednesday, September 18, 2019. There will be no exceptions.
  • Once you opt out for a semester, you are not able to opt back in.
  • You must opt out for each semester.
